Come on all my AmeriCorps kin,

State of Missouri needs your help again,

Got themselves in a terrible jam,

Flooding up river by #24 Lock 'n Dam,

So put on your vests and pick up a spade,

We're gonna move a whole lot of sand,

It's one, two, three - how high are we plannin' for?

Don't know, just keep on baggin',

Shore up those walls before they're saggin',

And it's five, six, seven - Nature's opened up the floodgates,

Ain't no time to wonder why,

Keep fillin' and stackin’ them high,

Yeah, come on volunteers, don't be slow,

Big Muddy is sure to make a big flow,

Clarksville's got no money to be paid,

But the Army's providing the tools of the trade,

Just hope and pray when the crest does come,

We've done enough to protect these homes,

It's one, two, three - how high are we plannin' for?

Keep on baggin', we'll need some more,

I'd say enough to block those doors,

And it's five, six, seven - Nature's opened up the floodgates,

Ain't no time to wonder why,

Fire up the pumps to keep things dry,

Now the river level don't move fast,

About a week, danger will be past,

You could say that we done good,

Alas we only get paid in food

Lots of houses have been saved,

But don’t expect them to throw a parade,

It’s one, two, three - how many years we been coming for?

Don’t ask me I don’t give a damn

All part of Missouri’s disaster plan

And it's five, six, seven - Nature's opened up the floodgates,

Ain’t no time to wonder why,

Think it’s time to say goodbye!
