Since 1994, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) has assisted communities in disaster relief in over 30 states and more than 65 of Missouri's 105 counties. Locally, we've responded to incidents such as state-wide flooding, ice storms, and tornadoes. Nationally, we've responded to the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Winter Warming Shelter

Now in its 10th year of operation, the emergency Winter Warming Shelter at ACSTL provides two hot meals and a safe place to sleep for roughly 60 homeless men, women, and children of St. Louis.

Community Service and Events

AmeriCorps St. Louis participates in national service days on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and President’s Day. Members also partner with community organizations in service days once a month. You can also find us at community events and festivals throughout the year.

Community Training and Support

When disaster strikes, AmeriCorps St. Louis supports communities in response and recovery. Communities, families, and individuals can support themselves by preparing ahead of time. We have a list of agencies and resources that can help people “be the help before help arrives.”
